KNIGHTLEY: Pienso que uno puede trabajar en cualquier lugar, hacer algo grando. Pero cuando llegas a los grandes negocios, se vuelve mucho más difícil que esto sea una experiencia personal. Disfruto hacer películas, de esas a las que les agregas un método peligroso, porque te sientes cercano a las personas con las que estas trabajando. Confías en todo el mundo en un nivel muy personal, somos como un equipo. Las grandes películas son más difíciles de hacer o coordinar debido a que el número de personas es muy grande. Pero acerca de cómo es trabajar contigo es que siempre hay una respuesta definitiva - hay muchas películas que son solo tuyas y tu debes tomar las decisiones. Encuentro esto difícil en un estudio de películas, porque hay tantos ejecutivos y cosas por el estilo, es algo por lo que tienes que pasar muy seguido, conseguir una opinión definitiva es bastante difícil. Siempre he dicho que es mucho más fácil cuando trabajas con una persona que tiene una grana visión y esa es la que hay que seguir, a diferencia de muchas otras personas.
CRONENBERG: Bueno, una dictadura benigna. Creo que es así como se supone que debe ser un set de filmación. Sin embargo, Robert Pattinson, protagonista de la película que acabo de filmar, Cosmópolis, estaba comentando sobre esto también. Debido a que él hizo esas películas de Twilight, se quedó asombrado por el hecho de que yo pudiera tomar una decisión ahí mismo en el set y eso fue todo (Asombrado porque lo contrató). Pero para mí como tengo tanto tiempo en este negocio son cosas muy comunes, por supuesto.
KNIGHTLEY: I think you could function anywhere. But I think when you get to the big ones, it becomes much more difficult to make it such a personal experience. I enjoy making films like A Dangerous Method more because you get so close with the people you're working with. You rely on everybody on a very personal level, as a team. Bigger films are more difficult because the number of people is so huge. But the thing about working with you is that there's always a definitive answer—they're very much your films and you make the decisions. I find it quite difficult on studio films because there are so many different executives and things like that that you have to go through, so very often getting that definitive opinion is actually quite difficult. I always find it much easier when there's one person whose vision you're following, as opposed to many people.
CRONENBERG: Well, a benign dictatorship, I think, is what it's supposed to be on a film set. But Rob Pattinson, who stars in the film I just shot, Cosmopolis, was commenting on that, too. He was saying that because he's done these Twilight movies, he was sort of astonished that I could just make a decision right there on the set and that was it. But for me, that's business as usual, of course.
